Recipe for Sagittarians – Kezhvaragu Keerai Adai

Sagittarius is the ninth astrological sign, depicted by the half-horse half-human archer. The symbol is a bow and arrow. With their chief element being fire, Sagittarians secretly want to make a difference in the world, leaving a mark with whatever they do!

Our chef recommends food that includes white pumpkin, sprouts and fenugreek seeds. He also recommends you munch on nuts when you’re craving a snack.

Here’s an interesting recipe with healthy finger millets. These patties are super easy to make, and are an impressive starter to make for your next gathering.

Ingredients Quantity
Ragi/finger miller flour 1 cup
Sprouted greens 50 gms
Shallots 50 gms
Green chillies – chopped 20 gms
Coriander leaves – chopped 20 gms
Curry leaves 20 gms
Gingelly oil 50 ml
Salt To taste

Method:

  1. Heat the oil, add the shallots and chopped green chillies. Sauté till the shallots are translucent.
  2. Add the greens and salt, cook for a few minutes.
  3. Once the mixture cools, add in the ragi flour and mix well.
  4. Taste the mixture to check if you need to add more salt. Add water a little at a time to make a soft dough.
  5. TDivide the dough into 6 equal sized balls.
  6. Flatten the balls into patties using your fingers. You can use a greased plantain leaf or plastic Ziplock bag to do this.
  7. Grease a tawa or pan and heat it. Transfer the flattened dough onto it and cook on both sides, using oil as required.
  8. Serve the adai hot, with chutney or avial. Enjoy!
