On each of the nine days, the deity appears in different costumes and uses a different vahana (mount) to offer devotees an opportunity to see the image of the deity. The awe-inspiring Brahmotsayam procession attracts thousands of devotees every year during this month. The day that the deity appears using an eagle as his vahana is known as Guru Sevai and is considered particularly auspicious.
