The chronicles of our GReaT Warriors

It wouldn’t be an understatement when we say that the last couple of weeks have been a rollercoaster, what with the announcement of a lockdown putting our lives on hold. But we can proudly say that we at GRT Hotels and Resorts have been doing all that we can to help out the community during this time of need.

As a way of expressing gratitude to the frontline warriors working at the forefront, our Hotels came forth with an incredible initiative to distribute fresh, nutritious meals cooked by our admirable kitchen staff to the frontline COVID Warriors such as the doctors at Rajiv Gandhi Hospital, amongst other healthcare workers and police officials who are working hard every day to keep us healthy and safe.

Apart from the frontline warriors, our wholesome meals were also distributed to the underprivileged daily wage labourers who were struggling to find food during this difficult period as well. Our COO, Mr. Vikram Cotah was instrumental in ensuring all our efforts were carried out seamlessly.

Our contributions didn’t stop there. With a sum of Rs.1.25 crores to the Chief Minister’s Public Relief Fund (CMPRF), the GRT Group that consists of GRT Jewellers and GRT Hotels and Resorts contributed to help the government fight the battle against the pandemic. The staff also contributed a day’s salary towards the fund as an extension of this act of goodwill, and those who couldn’t return home were given a place to stay within the hotel premises, with all their needs taken care of.

Keeping in mind our friendly canines who were also in need of assistance, our staff at Radisson Blu Hotel GRT, Chennai teamed up with volunteers to feed the adorable stray dogs some nutritious meals. And in GReaT Trails Yercaud, the staff helped feed the monkeys from the nearby hills that were dependent on the tourist movement and its villagers who are currently under lockdown.

Our efforts to create a positive impact and give back to the community the best way can, will not stop here. We’re happy to give back to our community that needs assistance and we’re immensely grateful and proud to stand by them in these trying times.
