Adding relief to the relief efforts

Nobody could have anticipated the long and tumultuous turns this pandemic has taken. As members of the hospitality industry, it is our privilege and honour to lead the relief efforts. We made it our mission to serve those who were affected by the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic and we are aligning all our efforts to ensure we do.          

Having a strong immune system is the need of the hour and nutrition plays an important role in boosting one’s immunity. Keeping this need in mind, our chefs are working alongside leading nutritionists to create special meals to boost and bolster your immunity. After all, we are what we eat.  The delicious meals are rich with all the essential nutrients. This was served free of cost to all frontline workers, migrant labourers, and of course the healthcare workers too, when the pandemic began.

We wanted to make this service more accessible when the second wave surges through the country. Our recently launched GRT Cloud Kitchens has adopted this model and established a way to reach people effectively. The cloud kitchen service has played a tremendous role in the relief efforts by providing a free meal service, prepared with utmost care to COVID-19 patients and their caretakers. The service is available in Chennai, Madurai, Kakinada, Tirunelveli and Vellore. We do hope you make the most of this offering so that your health is uncompromised. Our greatest strength lies in looking out for each other. Every step can make a difference, no matter how small and we are doing all that we can to ensure that the tide turns in our favour.

We stay committed to helping the nation breathe easy again. Most recently, we donated about 5 oxygen concentrators to Chettinad Hospital. We ensured that the concentrators were installed in the general ward, thereby making quick access to these facilities more accessible to all, no matter where they come from.

We stand by the community and the people, always. To help support the Government of Tamil Nadu, the GRT group has donated Rs. 1 crore to the Chief Minister’s Public Relief Fund. As a gesture to express how tremendous our love is for the many customers and well-wishers who have supported us tirelessly.

Restoring normalcy is proving to be a herculean task and it is one that can be only accomplished through cooperation and lifting each other up. Therefore, in addition to the above measures, we have also partnered with several NGOs to aid them in their respective relief efforts. We continue to monitor the situation closely and together, we shall move forward.
