When the end of November nears, there is an unspoken excitement that engulfs us hoteliers. We look forward to December every year – there is no other month that makes us this happy.
It’s the end of the year which means we get to start making plans for the new food year, we’ve got our super-exciting annual calendar coming up, we’re prepping for Christmas meals, New Year celebrations, and office parties.
And most important of all, we’re baking!
Every year at all our hotels, our teams come together for a ceremonial cake- mixing event. This year, the Grand Chennai by GRT Hotel, and the Radisson Blu Resort Temple Bay Mamallapuram marked the beginning of the festive season with a beautifully arranged table of dried fruits and nuts, and a whole range of alcohol including whisky, rum, vodka, brandy, wine, and beer.
We’ll let this mixture soak for a month or so, before our chefs put on their aprons, swap out their chef hats for Santa hats, and get to work creating the most decadent puddings, cakes and mulled wine.
